Previously, with ESC adjustments, the most a 9 and under handicap could take on any hole was a double bogey.  10 – 19 could take a 7.  20 – 29 could take an 8.  30 – 39 could take a 9.

This ESC scoring has been replaced by Net Double Bogey.  So if a 1-9 handicap shot a 10 on #3, the #1 Handicap hole, they would now write down an 7 (Net par is 5 so net double bogey is 7) instead of a 6.  See the link below for a matrix of handicaps 1 – 36 and the Net Double Bogey max they can take on any hole at EdinburghUSA.
